But, this baby, 33 years later, was persecuted like a slave. He was publicly tortured, mocked, despised, shamed and executed as a severe criminal. All the while, He was a man without sin and, still is, the Son of God. He taught truth, healed the sick and delivered the enslaved. Everyone on earth except Him was a slave – to the worldly values, darkness and devil’s perversion. (Romans 6:16-18) Slaves were doomed for humiliation, destruction and death. In order to awake and save us, however, this baby reversed the logic and made himself a slave to die in our place.
a Slave's Choice
Since then, we the real slaves have had a choice. Some choose light. Some choose to stay in darkness. Some still blame things on God. Some have not had a chance to hear the freedom message of Jesus Christ. Some chose light first and next went back into the darkness. But this baby has taught us, “Nothing is impossible with God.” [Luke 1:37]
Once being slaves, we have a slave mentality. We tend to resist and quit halfway into the freedom training. We dread the discomfort of conquering sins and fleshly desires. Even when God is for us… Even when God says we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ... ‘Dying to slavery,’ also known as ‘dying to self,’ isn’t an easy job. True. Yet, if not for this baby’s purpose of sacrificing himself on the cross for our sins it would have been impossible.
In the Bible, God says Jesus was rich but for our sake He became poor so we could become rich. [2 Cor. 8:9] Jesus is God but for our sake He became a slave so we the real slaves could be delivered.
The Enslaved and Real Slaves
Now, I seem to understand deeper why many black people have had strong faith and been exalted to high positions. Since the slavery time, they refused to live as slaves in their spirit even when their physical bodies were used as slaves. They hung on to the Lord, the true healer and deliverer. They waited for God’s righteousness and justice to come and set them free. Their bodies were enslaved but they spirit and mind were freely living in truth and the Kingdom of God. On the other hand, those who enslaved them were real slaves.
Isn’t it possible that black people could identify themselves with the spiritual slavery and deliverance deeper than non-black people? Could this be one of the reasons why I see almost 50% of the partners of Morris Cerullo World Evangelism were blacks? They have been eager to support this apostolic and prophetic ministry to train nationals to take the Good News of Jesus Christ to the end of the world so none has to be a slave anymore. Could this be one of the reasons why there was almost over 60% of black audience in the 2002 MCWE prayer conference in London, England?
The Freedom Baby
Happy birthday, baby Jesus. You were born as the divine solution to all enslaved. May your birth bring hope, rest, repentance and revelation in this season in year 2002. Many shall receive this tiny God baby as their Savior and rejoice together with Father. Amen.
