© Focus on Jesus. Focus on Souls. ©Jesus embraces us with His almost completely naked physical body. When He washed Peter’s feet… What He died for us on the cross on Calvary… His image was humble as a slave. He loves us – yesterday, today and forever – beyond our understanding. Naked Humility
He did not love us through dollar bills, fancy clothes, careers, titles, mortgages, automobiles, or even theology. He loves us nakedly. He reserves nothing. He hides nothing.
It is we, His children, love Him through our possessions, dollar bills, formalities, doctrines, multiple standards, human values, jealousy, pride, unwillingness to seek divine help for victory.
To save us, Jesus was willing and obedient to be stripped of divinity, human dignity and all earthly belongings. Jesus still does not mind to be seen naked, downgraded, tortured, humiliated, abused, mocked and misunderstood. Just so one day we would acknowledge our Creator’s divine love. Just so one day we will contemplate going back to our Father after years of wondering in the darkness.
In the Spirit, Jesus still comes to us nakedly. He still washes our feet. Just so we can respond with willingness to share intimacy with Him. He has given His all – His spirit, soul, emotions, and physical flesh and blood, to us.
Will We Respond Nakedly?
We are to follow Jesus’ example and wash each other’s feet – to serve one another. Of course, we could still wash others’ feet with nice suits or dresses. Often, we become concerned with the upkeep of those beautiful outfits and reluctant to kneel or serve humbly.
Jesus desires us to bring heaven down to earth. We hurt Him by embracing Him with possessions, doctrines or anything else. He looks beyond our inabilities, weaknesses and into our hearts. He wants us to know we must not be locked into those humanly valued styles or security blankets. When we embrace Him with our nakedness, Jesus covers us with divine love, wisdom, power and courage. And, we bring heaven down on earth… because we can live Jesus, do Jesus and talk Jesus… because we don’t judge, with limited mindset and understanding, on others’ personal relationships with God.
May we all go to heaven when we quarrel and attack one another? If I could not bring heaven down on earth I may still live in darkness. If I chose to live in darkness how could I guarantee I’d go into light after death? My Desire
Lord Jesus, Your naked body is filled with humility and divine love. You are not an untouchable, superficial God. You have real, touchable flesh. Keep me so I remain in Your humility, love and obedience. So I can bring down kingdom of heaven on earth to those you allow me to serve. Amen. |
