When growing up in Taiwan, we were taught the meaning of life is ‘to create the succeeding lives in the universe.’ This could not provide answers to my question of ‘Where does life start or end?’
In attending one of the Pensacola Revival services in 1998, Pastor John Kilpatrick taught us the purpose of life is to fellowship with God. This made sense to me.
One Sunday in 2000, Anaheim Vineyard Senior Pastor Lance Pittlock taught us ‘worship is a lifestyle.’ It’s not just singing and dancing, or the beginning of a church service. In the MCWE prayer conference in London, pastor Ron Kenoly taught worship from Genesis 22:5. Abraham said to his servants, "Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will Father says, and then we will come back to you." Worship is also work and obedience.
On October 20, Pastor Gary Greenwald of our home church reminded us the purpose of our lives is to glorify the Lord. One of The Scriptures I found was in 1 Corinthians 10:31. Father says, "So whether you eat or dink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
To me, my purpose of life is the meaning of life. Without a purpose, life won't mean much. So, adding them all up, I have settled that "my purpose of life is to worship, fellowship and glorify the Lord." God is love. The meaning of life has, therefore, become to worship, fellowship and glorify love. (I feel the power and sweetness just by thinking about it.)
How about you? Have you found your purpose of life, or your meaning of life?
