Lord, You've said through Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 7:9-11,

 

'...yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. 10Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 11See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done...'

 

9-11 repentance prayer, godly sorros, repentance prayer, mixed marriage immigrant single parent familyLord, I repent on behalf of my country.  We have tried hard to get rid of You from our personal lives, schools, businesses, and governments at all the city, county, state and federal levels.  We have refused to acknowledge You in all 'successes' You granted us.  Our ego and pride have swallowed us.  We have chased material possessions.  We have loved sexual and violent things.  We have gone after drugs and alcohol.  We have not treasured our families and have broken them easily.  We have murdered babies.  Money and technology have driven our thinking.  America was founded on Bible and Jesus, the solid Rock.  In the past years, our values have turned upside down, and our priorities have been twisted.  We have made the created things much more important than the Creator.  We do not know what we are doing or where we are heading.  We have been just like what You said in Isaiah 59:12-14,

 

12 'For our offenses are many in your sight, and our sins testify against us. Our offenses are ever with us, and we acknowledge our iniquities: 13 rebellion and treachery against the LORD, turning our backs on our God, fomenting oppression and revolt, uttering lies our hearts have conceived. 14 So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter.'

Lord, thank You for the terrorist wake-up call.  Thank You for giving us the opportunity to repent and pray and getting right with You.  Lord, make America one of the leading nations demonstrating godly sorrow and repentance so other countries can follow.  May You help us continue to unite in Truth and prayer.  May America rediscover Jesus as a nation.  Thank you for establishing and raising up godly and wise government leaders.  May You once again use America to bless the world.  May Your Word in Isaiah 59:20-21 be fulfilled,

 

20 "The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins," declares the LORD.

21 "As for me, this is my covenant with them," says the LORD . "My Spirit, who is on you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth, or from the mouths of your children, or from the mouths of their descendants from this time on and forever," says the LORD .
