To many, year 2002 was a refining and difficult year.  To me, 2001 was more traumatic and dramatic than 2002.  While the refining continued in 2002, much deliverance came and propelled me to continue to grow in the Lord.  As for the children, after being encouraged to get a review from Jesus both Edmond and Sonya have received the review of 2002 and directions for 2003.  Mom needed to catch up.

 

A Great Beginning

 

On the first day of year 2003, Sonya and I left for Orlando to attend the MCWE 2003 World Conference.  It was the most powerful conference ever of all the ones I have attended in the past years.  God pushed us onto a much deeper level of spiritual revelation and maturity than before.  I think it’s because we need to be prepared ready for the gospel to penetrate the entire earth and Jesus’ soon return.  Till now, I have still been listening to and regurgitating on the set of CDs brought back from the conference. 

 

With such a rich opening of the new year, I wondered what the Lord’s direction is for me.  How will I fit into the big picture?  Cindy Jacobs and several other mighty leaders prophesied about 2003.  After a year of refining, 2003 is going to be the year of the three’s – like Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.  The Lord will restore many covenant relationships.  It’s going to be the year of resurrection… so on and so forth.  These prophecies brought great revelation and encouragement.  I began to review 2002 and, again, became grateful to how He has grown us in the past year.  Now, we are in the new mercies of 2003 and I asked the Lord for a renewed direction.

In December 2002, mom asked the Lord if she could have all three privileges: lots of time with Jesus, lots time with kids, and yet lots of time for a business or an office job.  On Christmas night, the Lord spoke, “Be a good mother so I can use these kids.” 

 

Then in the morning on 1/23, as Yvonne hummed worship melodies in the Jacuzzi and rested in Him, Holy Spirit impressed upon her heart the renewed direction in 2003: to train Edmond and Sonya up in the Lord.   In the past two years, the primary focus was for mom to be trained and tested in the Lord.  Now, the focus is shifted to intensify the training on kids.  (Mom is unsure if this is a break for her.)

 

Edmond will turn 13 in March.  Sonya is a year and half younger.  Mom does not believe teenagers have to be rebellious.  ‘Rebellious teenagers’ is a worldly saying and most parents, even Christian parents, have bought into it.  I refuse to comprise my children to the spirit of rebellion or ungodliness or peer pressure.  Instead of wasting their time and creativity in rebelliousness, I believe kids can indeed devote their heart and energy in the direction and manner God designs for them to follow.  In order to do this, their spiritual development needs to increase.  Then, kids, like adults, can become more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. [Romans 8:37, 1 Cor. 15:57]

 

Year 2003 will indeed be the year of three’s – Yvonne, Edmond and Sonya.  Holy Spirit will transform the YES Team to serve Him in a new way.
