An Eight-Year-Old's Battle on Porn
The porn battle began in 2nd grade. The little guy Edmond became curious about the internet. Kids learned they could attach ‘.com’ with almost anything… and the exact site will come up. Well, you know, candy.com, chocolate.com, movie.com, game.com and many others. They sure were whole lot more imaginative than their middle-aged and technically trained (then software consultant) mother.
One night after work, mom came home and found about 20 web pages of the same porno site open on the desktop computer. Her heart sank. The little guy said his classmate told him to check out sex.com. In pain, mom prayed. The next day, she talked to the school principal. Mr. Terry said at that age a young boy did it out of curiosity and would not understand the content. There was not much the school could do. Mom prayed again and sat down with her little one.
“Son, do you want mommy’s picture to be on that kind of website?” Mom asked The eight-year-old pondered for a short while, smiled and answered, “No.” “If you don’t want mommy’s photo on there you know that’s a bad site. You should not go there at all.”
Mom also sent the boy to talk to Jesus. She warned him if he continues going to the bad sites he would lose his privilege of internet access. The first battle was over.
Two Years Later
Busy with work, mom thought everything was cool. The second attack sneaked in. The Lord was merciful. One morning, He brought her attention to the fact her son had carried an indecent picture in his pant pocket for two weeks. She was in shock again. At night, mom sent her young son to talk to Jesus. The Lord told him he was wrong. Edmond repented. Mom praised God for exposing enemy’s attack and protecting the family. Edmond continued internet access and stood firm on the instructions God had given him.
(His big battles became the amount of time and the type of computer games he played. One of his challenges has been self-control. Through repeated counsel from the Holy Spirit, Edmond has made much progress and won several victories.)
Turning 14
Once again, the Lord alerted us. In late January, the school’s news thru e-mail warned parents about protecting children when using instant messaging programs. We discussed this as a family. In a few days, Edmond told mom the number of junk e-mails increased and some of them were very bad. By the subject line, he could tell and delete accordingly.
Attack of High Volume Porn Spam
Immediately, mom began using MailWasher Pro (http://www.mailwasher.net) to monitor his e-mail account on the ISP’s mail server, in addition to her own. A week later on Monday morning 2/9, she turned on the computer and saw 22 spams come into her son’s account during one night. More sickeningly, over 70% of them were porn.
Mom reported this fact to Edmond’s advisement teacher to alert the school the battle young boys are facing. Edmond has since changed his e-mail address. In mom’s private time with Jesus, she has wept for all boys (and girls and adults) who may be attacked by porn and are not prepared. Also, for busy dads and moms who may not have realized the severity of the porn danger their families are facing daily. Statistics show high percentages of male have fallen into the easy trap of internet porn. How many of them are dads? When will the curse end? When will we repent for the tragedies we have allowed to happen?

Devil has devised many ways to destroy families and the future generations. Taking prayer out of schools, abortion, homosexuality, drugs, alcohol, violence, and pornography too. It’s cheap. It’s free. Porn spams are delivered at no charge right before your eyes. You can read them or visit the websites at home, at work or even in some public schools and libraries. It requires little physical actions yet perverts your mind, oppresses your perception of others and your relationship with them – to enslave and destroy you and family eventually.
Don’t we all have treasured relationships with males? Our sons, grandsons, husbands, boyfriends, nephews, cousins, dads and granddads… How about relationships with females? Daughters, granddaughters, nieces, wives, girlfriends, moms, grandmas… Girls and ladies can be addicted too. Many of both genders have become victims.
Lord Jesus, have mercy on us. Help us to humble ourselves and pray for our loved ones and those who have been entrapped in all forms of pornography. Deliver us. Set us free. Help us walk in obedience, compassion and loyalty to you. Only Jesus can fulfill us. You are our truth and hope. Thank you for using righteous legislators and law enforcement to protect us and expose evil. Help us, each individual – young or old, male or female, spend time with you, seek you, walk in you, resist temptations and overcome evil with good. Help us destroy the porn industry completely through intercession. Your righteousness and justice shall reign on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

Time
flies. The young boy is no longer eight or ten. He will soon turn 14 in March
and will graduate middle school in June. Few weeks ago, he decided to let go
his long hair. Doesn’t he look cute? (He has not smiled this big at home for
almost two years.)
